THE SOUNDING ROOM - IMMERSIVE LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCE | 16.10.22

The Sounding Room is an immersive live music performance by musician, composer and performer Bird Radio. Using flutes, voice and live looping he conjures a shimmering room of sound inside the candle-lit Old Church Stoke Newington before your eyes and ears. The performance lasts two hours and all are welcome to drop in for any amount of time. 

The event is free (donations are welcome towards the artist and the repairs of the church bells).

Bird Radio is the stage name of Mikey Kirkpatrick, a flautist, singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and performer who has released multiple albums and toured internationally as well as collaborated with musicians, filmmakers, poets, theatre practitioners and sound artists. 

During the pandemic Bird Radio performed over 200 live radio flute-loop improvisation broadcasts with the intention of offering a calming sonic space for people during difficult times. The Sounding Room has the same intention, but this time within the beautiful physical space and acoustics of The Old Church Stoke Newington.
