About the event
Festival favourites, the Consone Quartet, return to the festival with a programme of Mozart and Beethoven. While the music may be familiar, the presentation will be a little unusual; the two quartets will be performed with timely interpolations from Virginia Woolf and other Londoners. Beethoven's string quartet in F major Op. 59 No.1 is monumental in scale, while Mozart's quartet in G major, K. 156, composed when he was only sixteen, has the delicacy of newly ripened fruit.
