Parandrus consort was launched at the 2017 ORDA International Competition in Amsterdam where it won first prize. Co-founded by Hackney born Charlotte Barbour-Condini, winner of the wind category of the BBC Young Musician of the Year, Parandrus is recognized for its ability to switch seamlessly between different eras, from the 12th century to the present day. The players will astonish you with their virtuosity!
For this concert, three recorder players (including Hackney born founder member Charlotte Barbour-Condini, winner of the wind category of BBC Young Musician of the Year) will perform an eclectic mix of music spanning the centuries from the 12th to the present day. Like the mythical beast with chameleon-like qualities after which it is named, Parandrus happily switches between medieval and renaissance and contemporary music. Be prepared to be astounded at what the recorder can do!
