LIGHT ON is a fundraising day-rave and a homage to artistic creativity with hybrid sets from Savaggio and Selin Asar - both talented musicians, producers and DJs, supported by Light Service regular/ resident DJs. Expect 10 glorious hours of gorgeous deep, progressive House and Melodic Techno within the church and its wild garden (complete with repeater speakers). Intersonic Sound Productions are also kindly bringing their FUNKTION ONES to support this pressingly important cause - the East African Food Crisis.
Savaggio plays live violin to his beautifully original Melodic Techno tracks and Selin integrates her ethereal voice seamlessly into her stunning sets. Selin may also possibly make use of the huge church organ, let's see how she blows our mind!
Complementing the bar, a juice bar will provide a range of freshly made, energising juices and wraps. There will be a festival feel, created by the very talented Twisted Charm facepainting and stalls from local designer and clothing business, The Custard Shop who will also offer beautiful shirts from Wild Rose Kenya, with a percentage of any profits towards the cause.
The East African Food Crisis is the worst the region has seen in decades, leaving 140 million without food. The worst drought for 40 years, rising prices, conflict and climate change have left many teetering on the brink of starvation, especially in former British colonies: Somalia, Sudan and Kenya.
